INTERNSHIPS AT SERIAL.
We are delighted to welcome and support a number of interns each year for their end-of-year internships (4 months minimum).
We work in close collaboration with the main Swiss and French engineering schools. The internships are mainly aimed at students at the end of their engineering studies or postgraduate students, and are an ideal launchpad in a new career.
All the internships are paid according to the student’s contribution and generally result in a job offer.
We focus on the human factor,
a family, our family – and perhaps yours soon too?
Every month, a consultant presents a theme or skill to his or her colleagues. The themes are wide ranging, depending on the co-workers’ choices, as they share their experience of an innovative technology. This is also a special occasion at SERIAL, a time to share and relax with a drink and a snack.
Each session brings together around a quarter of the staff.
Some of the chosen themes: Dockers, Azure, Xamarin, AngularJS, Machine Learning, IOT, virtual and augmented reality, etc.
The idea arose naturally when the company reached a certain size: what could we do so that people could carry on meeting together and keep SERIAL’S friendly atmosphere intact when our consultants were often away on an assignment? Afterwork is an association managed by and for our co-workers, and sponsored by SERIAL. Regularly, an event is scheduled outside work, in the evening or at the weekend. These can be sports activities (skiing, rafting, go-karting, canyoning, snowshoeing, etc.) or leisure activities (bowling, games, etc.).
This is a special occasion to relax, helping to bring people together, and free of the pressure from projects.
Switzerland is an exceptional environment, between the lakes and the mountains, with career opportunities worthy of great world capitals.
The Swiss economy is firmly rooted in the service industries. So there are plenty of opportunities for a career in I.T. in such sectors as finance, banking or insurance. But the secondary sector is not left out, with the luxury industry (Rolex, Swatch), the food, chemicals or pharmaceutical industries (Nestlé, Mercks Serono, etc.). With one foot in Europe and one outside, a strong, stable currency and a unique taxation system, this is also a favourite location for the European headquarters of major multinationals. Switzerland, through its neutrality, also welcomes a large number of international (UN, WTO, BIT, CERN, etc.) and sports organisations (IOC, UEFA, FIA, Eurovision, etc.).
This is a country where a cosmopolitan population rubs shoulders, and where a large number of communities live. In business, people speak English as much as French or German. Switzerland has not yet joined the EU, it is true, but many agreements have been signed, making Switzerland an attractive destination for European I.T. engineers who want to live or simply to work in French-speaking Switzerland.
