1) Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?
I am 35 years old, married, 3 children, former rugby player, and I’m passionate about software development.
2) Outside of work, what are your interests and hobbies?
I live in Aix-les-Bains, I love running in the surrounding mountains. I try to impart my passion for rugby to my children, and when it doesn’t work, I initiate them to guitar and piano. When I do not have DIY to do at home, I take my PC and I try the latest fashionable frameworks.
3) What was your background before joining us?
I did a preparatory classes for higher maths in Chambéry followed by an engineering school in electronics (ENSERG) in Grenoble before specializing in computer science at ENSIMAG.
I then spent 10 years at Axway (Annecy-le-vieux) where I mainly worked in the transfer and transformation of electronic documents.
4) What is your role in our Chambéry Agency?
I’m wearing 2 hats. I manage the team dedicated to a large Swiss private banks as project manager and technical leader. And globally, within the agency I’m the intermediary between the management based in Switzerland and the teams here. My role is also to harmonize development practices so that our clients can benefit from the SERIAL brand!
5) How are the ultramodern installations of Technolac?
Our premises are indeed perfectly and fully equipped, including an essential element to the success of our project at a distance: the videoconference. In addition to the equipment, we benefit from an ideal working environment. The proximity of the lake and mountains, the dynamic atmosphere of the university campus and the presence of many start-ups motivates us all daily. Not to mention the good restaurants we like to discover to build greater linkages among the team 🙂 .
6) Why did you join SERIAL?
To be totally honest, the geographical location was the first thing that attracted me. Then, I discovered from many sources that the reputation of SERIAL was excellent, because of the quality of the teams, the ambition of projects and the notoriety of our customers. The excitement of participating in the birth of our French agency definitely convinced me, and I feel that each member of the team shares this feeling.
7) What have you learned at SERIAL?
My profile being more technical, I learnt a lot in the field of project management: technically speaking – Atlassian tools (Jira, Portfolio) and humanly speaking – around the coffee machine 🙂 .
8) How do you feel about the distance between your French office and the teams based in Switzerland?
Remote work requires a specific organization. Regular video conferencing with product owners and remote teams is essential. Even if all tools of today seem to make it possible to trace everything, to follow and to describe, the live communication is essential to avoid the misunderstandings and to facilitate the integration of our team to the customer.
From the SERIAL point of view, we are always happy to follow the tech talks and to come to each event organised by the company. By the way, I cannot wait to participate in the Christmas party at the end of the year!
9) If you had to describe SERIAL in 3 words?
Expertise, Service, Humanity
9) Last but not least, what would you say to those who would like to join us?
SERIAL is the ideal service company for technical enthusiasts. The technology watch broadcast in tech talks, the ambition of the projects and the expertise of its consultants allow to progress continuously. In addition, SERIAL pays a particular attention to each employee both humanly and professionally, allowing us to fully thrive at SERIAL.
